![]() Beth Ann Norvell, MA CCC-SLPSpeech Language PathologistMs. Norvell has been a speech-language pathologist for 25 years. She has served as the primary speech pathologist at Tree of Life for over 5 years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1983 and her graduate degree from the George Washington University in 1985. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings and with clients of varying needs: traumatic brain injury, stroke, voice disorders, autism, developmental delay, hearing impairment, articulation, oral motor and feeding difficulties, dysphagia and stuttering. Ms. Norvell is a member of the American Speech-Language Pathology Association and the Speech and Hearing Association of Virginia. At Tree of Life, she specializes in functional communication for those individuals that are recovering from traumatic brain injury. Her services are rendered both in the resident’s home and in the community. She encourages procedures such as Modified Barium Swallow Testing, Vital Stim Treatments, use of Palatal Lifts, assessment of vocal cord status, and use of Augmentative Communication Devices to optimize client’s functional status. She enjoys participating in continuing education courses to update her knowledge base as much as possible. |
