Tree of life Services Inc. provides post-acute, community-based, transitional neurorehabilitation and long-term supported living services for persons with acquired brain injury (ABI). Our multi-acre campus is located along a beautiful residential street in the far west end of Richmond, Virginia easily accessible to all major services and roadways. We offer a community-based continuum of living options including fully supervised residences with 24/7 care, a semi-independent house and supervised apartments in the community. We provide person centered, individualized assessment and treatment with a focus on strong differential diagnostic and treatment skills, community reintegration, quality of life, high levels of medical surveillance and provision of cost effective care. We strongly encourage family involvement and support.
Our program provides onsite neuromedical specialized brain injury medicine services, nursing, neurorehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, rehabilitation neuropsychology, and specialized therapy services. We have our own on-site professional chef and commercial grade kitchen as well as a nutritional consultant to provide the best in meal planning and client health. Our all-inclusive per diem rates our highly competitive. We encourage pricing comparisons with other programs relative to our scope of our services, quality and expertise of care and beautiful living environments. We pride ourselves on our treatment team’s expertise in analyzing the causes of persistent symptoms and impairments, whether after concussion or more severe brain injury. Our experienced and dedicated treatment team utilizes a transdisciplinary, biopsychosocial approach that emphasizes the latest evidence based techniques with creativity and compassion. We identify injury or illness related problems, and work to minimize their functional impact through neuromedical, rehabilitative and compensatory strategy interventions.

Transitional neurorehabilitation for early recovery after ABI when a patient is not ready for community discharge; late onset or aggravation of problems after acquired brain injury; persistent ABI related problems including those associated with concussion intractable to treatment and preventing return to work in normal activities; dual diagnosis problems after ABI; and/or claimed brain injury where there is a question as to the underlying cause of the clinical presentation.
Long term supported living for persons with more significant cognitive, behavioral, and/or physical impairments after ABI including those with medically complex care needs who are unable to return home or to community and who require specialized brain injury care in a cost-effective, community-based, supportive, homelike environment.
Our Chief Medical Officer and CEO, Nathan D. Zasler, M.D., is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, fellowship trained in brain injury rehabilitation and sub-specialty board certified in brain injury medicine. He has also been certified in pain management as well as impairment and disability evaluation. He is internationally recognized for his work in the field of brain injury neurorehabilitation.
