We specialize in serving people with Acquired Brain Injury due to:
- Trauma
- Hypoxia/ischemia
- Electrical shock or lightning injuries
- Strokes, AVMs and/or aneurysms
- Infectious diseases
- Tumors
- Toxic exposure
Our program is designed for persons with acquired brain injury, who are 18 or older, and who meet our admissions criteria (medical, behavioral and financial)
We will also consider admission of persons with acquired brain injury who meet one or both of the following criteria:
- Status post mild brain injury/concussion with persistent/disabling symptoms
- Status post presumptive traumatic brain injury where the diagnosis of brain injury as the cause of the client’s current symptoms/signs is in question and a more thorough work-up is deemed necessary to identify the appropriate diagnosis, treatment and/or prognosis including ability to return to gainful employment
We also provide services for individuals with dual diagnoses of acquired brain injury and:
- chronic pain including headache
- neurobehavioral problems
- functional neurologic symptom disorder (previously known as conversion disorder)
Treatment Services And Settings
Services
- Transitional neurorehabilitation services utilizing a holistic approach to treatment
- Residential group home supported living services with 24 hour per day support including “aging in place” services for those with medically complex conditions and/or high levels of care dependency
- Variable levels of supervision available for higher level clients in our living continuum including a semi-independent home and apartments
- ABI dual diagnoses (pain, sensory disorders, substance abuse, and psychiatric)
- Post-concussive/MTBI neurorehabilitation focused on persistent/intractable physical, cognitive and/or behavioral impairments
Settings
- Main campus includes three custom built homes each 9,200 – 12,500 square feet with 8 private rooms with wheelchair accessible bathrooms and closets for more medically complex patients with outdoor heated salt water pool and greenhouse
- Adjoining 6,000 square foot custom built house with pool.
- Supervised semi-independent group home for ambulatory clients
- Gated apartments that offer use of an exercise room, tennis courts and a pool with supervision/check-in services provided by our staff
